Hamar

Turmi is home of the Hamar people who are amongst the most readily identifiable of all the peoples of the South Omo. They are principally pastoralists, breeding cattle, goats and sheep. The women wear elaborately decorated goatskin and decorate their hair with clay and butter. A Hamar man comes of age by leaping over a line of cattle.
