Attend Good Friday / Siklet service in Bet Mariam Church Lalibela.
Millions of Ethiopian Orthodox Christians commemorate Good Friday, also known as “Great Friday” to remember the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. The Orthodox Christians observes the day through a daylong fasting, prayers and bowing down repeatedly requesting for forgiveness from God. On this day, the faithful gathered at churches to pray together and repent for their sins by fasting until 6pm, some are even continue to abstain from any kind of food and drink till Easter.
