Tukul village is a new hotel with attractive views of Lalibela and its surroundings. It looks in fact not a hotel but a small village. It is within a walking distance from the churches of Lalibela. The double-story tukuls here have long been considered one of the better places to stay in Lalibela. The interiors of the tukuls are a textbook example of how to merge traditional Ethiopian design with modern comforts. The 24 en suite rooms are designed in a circular cottage with stone walls, thatched roof and local fabric curtains which is according to the local traditional architecture. The thatched roof and the terracotta stone (identical to the rock-hewn churches) offer a cool and comfortable temperature inside the rooms. The wooden floor is Scandinavian light. WiFi connection is now available.
